Toto Dual Flush Toilet

Pictured is a Toto Dual Flush Toilet.

Bathroom Toilets with a Dual Flush Capability are great because when used properly they save massive amounts of money.  More water is used in the bathroom than anywhere else in the home, and simple bathroom usage/bathroom design/bathroom remodeling steps can help minimize this.  Simple decisions you make in life, over time, can have an enormous positive or negative impact on our environment.  Install your hot water heater near your shower and bathtub so you don’t need to run water while the shower heats up.  Turn off your sink faucets when you are brushing your teeth.

  1. We purchased a Toto and are very disappointed in the performance of this toilet. Unless you scrub the inside of the toilet bowl after every bowel movement, it is disgusting. What seems to be the problem?? Saving water is a great idea, however, no water is saved when one has to flush 2 and 3 times to try to clean things up.
    Please advise. Desperate.
    Thanks.

    • In Europe, they actually have the toilet brush handy to quickly scour the bowl if the rinse does not clean the first time. It is more important to saving the water & quickly brushing the bowl (if needed) than continually flushing. We own 2 of these toilets and don’t have this issue. We also have salad at least once per day :)

  2. I’ve got the same toilet and have never had that problem. Maybe you should eat more soup.

  3. I am intrigued by the Dual Flush to save water on the low setting, but how does the thoroughness of the 1.6 flush on this toilet compare with the flush on the new G-Max? I am FIRST interested in matching the flush of my current old 3 gallon Koehler which works GREAT. The saving of water for urination only flushes is of interest, but only if the 1.6 gallon flush is very thorough and does not require 2 or 3 flushes on occasion. Thanks.

  5. I have had trouble with leaking since it was installed. I have had three different plumbers reinstall it and it still leaks!
